About The Old Hall Hotel
At the heart of Buxton, the Old Hall is one of Buxton's finest hotels as well as a popular meeting place for visitors and local groups. Thought to be the oldest continually functioning hotel in England the Old Hall owes its exciting history to the source of Buxton's main spring directly underneath its East side. Down below in the Orchestra Pit the beams of the original Tudor foundations, dating back to 1570, can still be seen.
Underground’s home and main base is situated in this subterranean, historic world. Two of our performance spaces, as well as our Box Office, Information Desk and Fringe Club are situated under the Old Hall Hotel, with the Arts Centre just over the road, hosting the remainder of our programme.
